Styrofoam Printmaking (1)

All of the students at my school learned about printmaking for the projects we would work on for our school's art gallery. The 4 year old students had a more controlled experience. I already made a post about the project I worked on with the 5 year old students here
Since the 5 and 6 year old students are better at drawing and have practiced drawing patterns with me many times, I told them I wanted them to draw any kind of pattern they wanted. Both of the age groups worked alone perfectly and I just needed to check that they were pushing their pencils hard enough to push the lines in and create an image that will print perfectly.
The 6 year old students worked on 2 patterns and the 5 year old students worked on 1 pattern.

Once we finished, we painted acrylic paint all over the styrofoam to get ready to create a print by pressing the paper. We had to go through these steps quickly because if we let too much time pass between pouring the paint, spreading the paint and pressing the paper to make a print, the print would be unsuccessful. We had a lot of successful prints. Some of them didn't turn out well because they students didn't press too hard or I poured too much paint on their styrofoam.
