Colorful Spiderweb
I like to plan my monthly lesson plans with a monthly theme. For the month of October, can you guess what my theme was? Halloween!
The 6 year old students (2nd year students whose international age is 5 or 4) worked on drawing a spider web with oil pastels and coloring it in with watercolors.
Since they are still pretty young and many of them struggle with visualization and planning of space and lines as they work, we drew the vertical spider web lines together.
Once we were all done, I taught them how to make the curved line and where to draw it to finish their spiderweb outline. Students used a gray oil pastel to go over their pencil lines. Usually, we use white but my students struggle seeing the white lines so gray is the next best thing.
Once students were done tracing, they used watercolors to paint inside every spiderweb square.
