February is the last month of the school year at my school. The theme for February is Korean art. All of my students are Korean and I think it is important for them to learn about their heritage after spending months learning about artists from other countries around the world. When we discuss the images we see about traditional Korean art, many of my students get excited and they say they have something like that in their house or at their grandparent's house. I think it is a great way to end the year.
The third year students worked on a traditional tiger painting. Since drawing the tiger could be too challenging for their age group, we used carbon paper to trace our drawing to our paper and traced our image with indian ink. Once students were done tracing with ink they painted their tiger with watercolors.
