Board Game 1
My theme for the month of July was fun art, or art they could play with later.
The 4 year old students worked on stickers and a puzzle and the 5 and 6 year old students worked on a board game.We worked on this project for 4 classes, so it was a month long project.
On the first week students talked about game boards and elements they all share. I printed out a simple game board on a paper that was going to be their rough draft. On that paper they had to design 4 special boxes. The boxes had to be: go again, lose a turn, go forward and move backwards. They made a theme for their game and the design on the boxes had to be similar to the theme.
When they finished their rough draft I checked it to make sure the game flowed easily without having boxes next to each other that would let me win with minimal effort. Once they got the green light, they started drawing 20 boxes on a A2 sized paper that I had drawn the outline of their game board on.
Students copied everything box by box and coloring everything when they finished.
