Styrofoam Printmaking (2)

After our printed paper had dried out students worked on adding layers of stamps. This is was the second part of our printed paper project for our art gallery. The first part of the project is here.

Students worked on creating a new layer on their printed paper. They made stamps out of styrofoam. (I had a big shipment of styrofoam and I wanted to reuse as much of it as I could since it is so bad for the environment) They drew out shapes or pictures and retraced their lines to ensure they were deep enough. They cut the shape or picture out and applied paint with a paintbrush. They had to put their stamps on a line going across otherwise they would layer them on top of each other, put too many stamps or too little stamps.
