Eric Carle Fish

Another project I worked on with my afterschool students was Eric Carle inspired art. We read Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle and we made fish imitating the style we can find in his books. 

Students got tissue paper and I walked them step by step as they added colors and texture to their tissue paper. We read our book while we waited for the paper to dry. Once the paper was dry, we cut up our paper to make our fish and glued it together. 

I had been wanting to try Eric Carle inspired art in my regular class and trying  it out with a small number of students gave me the knowledge and courage to try it out with my students.
