Christmas Tree Paper Angels

After we finished working on Christmas cards (first year student's cards, second year student's cards, third year student's cards) we worked on Christmas ornaments (first year student's ornaments) to get into the Christmas spirit before we go on our Christmas break. I usually like to make ornaments out of clay so they can last longer and they feel more special, but we only had one class to work on this project. I saw this fun tutorial on how to fold paper to make paper angel ornaments and I decided it was simple enough to make with my third year students and the results would be cute.
We folded our paper together and there were no issues as students followed along to fold. I thought gluing a circular object on the top may be a bit hard so I decided to use a pipe cleaner for the head of our angel. We folded our pipe cleaner into a circle together and I hot glued it together. Once it had cooled off, students added heart buttons with glitter on them. Some students wanted to add more glitter to their angel and I let them emphasize the wings of their ornament with glitter. The finishing touch was yarn on the back so they could hang their angel around the house.
